This is a small cup in our cupboard. I have no idea when we got it or where it came from, but there is something fresh and playful about it.

That cup belongs to me!

Your mum gave it to me years ago and I think I left it in our flat in London when I fled for Hong Kong before you were born.

It's OK you can keep it - it would last about five minutes in my house with two cats. Anything which can be broken, will be.

Take care of it - it's a family heirloom.
